“The two sides shared views on the state and prospects of interaction between Belarus and the UN. The country’s socio-economic development and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development have been identified as priority areas for Belarus-UN interaction. The meeting also tackled the negative impact of the illegal sanctions policy on sustainable development, including on global food security, and on the UN programme activities in Belarus,” the Foreign Ministry noted.

Belarus’ Foreign Minister invited Rasul Baghirov to take part in a thematic meeting of the Council for Sustainable Development dedicated to the International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day, to take place on April 23rd, 2024, and to actively participate in the preparation and holding of the 2nd National Forum on Sustainable Development, scheduled for June 19th, 2024.

The parties agreed to continue developing constructive relations between Belarus and the UN.
