Pakistani Cultural and Educational Centre opened at Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts

The Pakistani Cultural and Educational Centre has opened at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts (BSUCA), sb.by reports with reference to the Embassy of Pakistan in Belarus


"Having made an important step towards the development of cultural ties and educational exchange, the Embassy of Pakistan in Belarus and the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts held the opening ceremony of the Pakistani Cultural and Educational Centre with the participation of Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus Sajjad Haider Khan and BSUCA Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Yelena Korsakova. The ceremony was attended by students, teachers and media representatives," the source reported.

The centre presents works of art by famous Pakistani artists and photographs depicting the picturesque landscapes of Pakistan, in addition to handmade, onyx and copper products, bags and purses, national clothes, and wooden products that demonstrate the way of life of Pakistan and the skills of its craftsmen.

During the opening ceremony, Sajjad Haider Khan expressed his deep gratitude to the university for housing the centre on its territory. In turn, Yelena Korsakova expressed gratitude to the Embassy of Pakistan in Belarus for its generous contribution to the establishment of the centre and highly appreciated the successful co-operation.

A concert followed the opening ceremony, and 150 guests were in attendance. In addition to musical performances, they were invited to get acquainted with an art exhibition featuring works by prominent Pakistani artists. The Pakistani cuisine was also widely presented.

"The Embassy of Pakistan and the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts are pleased to co-operate within the framework of this successful event and hope to continue working together in the future," the diplomatic mission noted.
