Lukashenko informed on military re-equipment of Poland

Airfields are being improved at a rapid pace on the other side of Belarus’ western border, and while re-equipping its armed forces, Poland is focusing on the purchase of modern combat aircraft, unmanned aerial and armoured vehicles, multiple launch rocket and anti-aircraft missile systems – as stated by the President of Belarus, Chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress Aleksandr Lukashenko, today

The Head of State noted, “We see how airfields, naval bases and training grounds are being improved at a rapid pace on the other side of our western border, and advanced bases are being created for the early deployment and storage of equipment, weapons and materiel. We are recording this not only through space reconnaissance, but also on the ground.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko gave specific examples, “To date, the modernisation of five airfields, two naval bases and six large landfills has been completed on the territory of Poland and the Baltic States. A logistics and technical support complex has been put into operation in Poland. Differently speaking, conditions have been created for equipping the armoured combat brigade group of the US land forces with weapons and materiel (in Powidz where up to 2.7 thousand units of military equipment are stored). As for the combat units of the Polish armed forces on the border with Belarus, which I spoke about yesterday, the military is solving reconnaissance and sabotage tasks under the pretext of strengthening security. Moreover, Poland intends to create ‘the most powerful land forces in Europe’ – using, definitely, the US military-technical support.”

Warsaw is steadily increasing its troops, and Aleksandr Lukashenko commented, “By 2035, up to 300 thousand people (slightly more than 190,000 at present) are to be involved. I cannot but comment. This poor Poland actually lacks labour force, and there are extremely many civil problems there. What kind of battles do they dream about? Who will provide them? A powerful economy is needed for war, while Poland relies on the EU subsidies and the US assistance. Why do they need this? I want to repeat another time: we are not going to fight against them! They should not expect any active, aggressive actions against the Polish state and people from the territory of Belarus. We do not need this!”

The President of Belarus and the Chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress added, “An army corps is being formed in the structure of the land forces, and its operational readiness is expected to be achieved by September this year. I can explain to non-military people: this operational readiness means that the formed corps will be ready for fighting at any moment. Full combat readiness is planned. This is like we have transferred a couple of battalions from Vitebsk and are now standing in front of NATO. These are the battalions of operational readiness, they can leave the places of their deployment within three hours, as far as I remember.”

The Head of State continued, “In addition, modern samples of military equipment are being supplied to the new mechanised formations. Poland is completing the process of forming territorial defence forces, and the latter’s command reports on the achievement of full operational readiness. To date, fifteen out of 18 brigades and a training centre of the territorial defence forces have been created. The formation of the remaining three brigades is planned to be completed this year.”

“By re-equipping its armed forces, Poland is focusing on the purchase of modern combat aircraft from all around the world (mainly from the United States and Korea), as well as unmanned aerial and armoured vehicles, multiple launch rocket and anti-aircraft missile systems of both foreign and national production. Moreover, the Polish leadership intends to conclude contracts for the supply of 96 American AH-64 attack helicopters, known as Apache,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
