Cocoa bean prices hit record high
Exchange prices for cocoa beans exceeded $11,000 per tonne for the first time in history of trading, TASS reports
According to ICE Futures, the cost of a tonne of cocoa beans reached $11,068 at its peak. The previous historical maximum price for this product was recorded on March 26th, when the price stood at $10,080.
Earlier, on April 3rd, the RFI radio station reported that leading cocoa beans producers in Côte d'Ivoire – considered the world’s largest supplier of these products – are demanding that their authorities raise purchase prices.
