Major General: Russia never asked Belarus for help and participation in special military operation

Belarus’ Commander-in-Chief has repeatedly stated that, since the beginning of the special military operation, Russia has never asked for help, has not demanded that the Republic of Belarus participate in the special military operation – as stated by the Assistant to the Defence Minister, Chief of the Main Ideological Directorate at Belarus’ Defence Ministry, Major General Leonid Kasinsky, during the Minsk-Moscow Union State live streaming

The Major General stressed that, unlike NATO, Russia is not dragging its partners and allies into military affairs, “Taking into account the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation, it can be asserted that such a powerful state is capable of solving the pressing issues without involving other parties. True, we have allied obligations, and they envisage our joint protection of the Union State as a whole and each of its members under certain conditions. Two fraternal nations are ready to defend their security together. A threat to the Russian Federation will be viewed as a threat to the Union State and the Republic of Belarus. Accordingly, a threat to the Republic of Belarus will be perceived as a threat to the Union State.”

Mr. Kasinsky recalled that, after the start of the special military operation, there was a lot of speculation that the Belarusian military were allegedly present on the territory of Ukraine, taking part in the special military operation. In addition, various fakes were promoted that Belarusian servicemen had been killed.

“We can mention many examples now of how Western politicians, by creating certain formal reasons, were engaged into the destruction of some states,” the Major General said. “Among them is the famous ‘Colin Powell test tube’, after which Iraq actually ceased to exist as an independent state. We can also speak of the aggression in Yugoslavia, when grounds were invented by accusing the country’s authorities of the creation of concentration camps. That's how they managed to break up Yugoslavia.”
