Major exercises on redeployment of US and German troops taking place in Lithuania

The Saber Strike major exercises on redeployment of units of the American and German armies, as well as heavy armoured vehicles, have kicked off in Lithuania, TASS reports

According to the Lithuanian army command, the exercises are conducted under the auspices of the US Military Command for Central and Eastern Europe and involve 600 American troops and 120 vehicles. They will be redeployed from Poland to join the rotating battalion of the US army stationed in Lithuania.

More than 3,000 German troops and 200 pieces of military equipment, including Leopard tanks, Puma and Boxer infantry fighting vehicles, will arrive in Lithuania as well.

Saber Strike will last until April 30th.
