Lukashenko: main real risk is created by hotspot in the region, and this is Ukraine

Washington is doing everything to involve Belarus in the conflict, to launch a mechanism to attract other states and, accordingly, weaken the Western and Eastern European regions – as stated by the President of Belarus, Chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress Aleksandr Lukashenko, on the second day of the Congress meeting, April 25th

The Head of State stressed, “The main real risk is created by a hotspot in the region: this is, of course, Ukraine. Washington is doing everything to involve Belarus in the conflict, to launch a mechanism to attract other states – thus weakening both the Western and Eastern European regions.”

Addressing the Belarusian People’s Congress delegates, Aleksandr Lukashenko voiced a detailed analysis of the current situation on the Ukrainian front, “There are heavy battles going on. Unfortunately, people are dying – not a few, tens and hundreds, but thousands of people. There is not only a serious shortage of ammunition in the Ukrainian troops ($60bn has been allocated by the United States for this purpose, and ammunition will be supplied), but there are also not enough people. People are fleeing the war. These are not stupid people, these are our people, they are wise and sensible. The allocation of $60 billion by the United States is the most important factor in the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. It is also very dangerous that ATACMS long-range missiles have been allocated. [There are] drone strikes at the Russian territory (you know about refineries and airfields, and influential people – as bandits say – are put on a clock). All these are the actions of Ukrainians, and they indicate that the war is escalating.”

At the same time, as noted by Aleksandr Lukashenko, the army of the Russian Federation is equipped with new weapons, and reserves are available in every brigade. “During our last talks in the Kremlin with Vladimir Putin, he invited the leadership of the General Staff and law enforcement agencies. The two of us were then reported on what’s happening at the front. I was convinced and partly surprised by the information of the General Staff Chief that they had created decent reserves in manpower and equipment. At present, every Russian brigade has reserves at least in the form of a regiment at the front. This means that, if there is a brigade at the front, then a regiment armed with the most modern weapons is deployed in its rear,” he said.
