Lukashenko: Belarus is peaceful country, but if necessary, Belarusians will stand up to defend their native land

Belarus is a peaceful country and does not consider any state as an enemy, but if necessary, the Belarusian people will stand up to defend their native land – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during today’s solemn meeting on the occasion of Victory Day at the Palace of the Republic

The Head of State recalled that two fundamental documents had been recently adopted at the Belarusian People’s Congress: the National Security Concept and the Military Doctrine. These determine the specific strategic measures that will help ensure reliable protection of the constitutional system of our state, sovereignty and peaceful life of the people.

“I repeat once again: Belarus is a peaceful country and doesn’t consider any state as an enemy. However, if necessary, the Belarusian people will stand up to defend their native land, using all possible forces and means. Our Armed Forces are the main guarantor of the country’s military security, so we keep them in constant combat readiness and equip them with the most advanced weapons,” the Belarusian leader underlined.

Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised that due to professional training, patriotism, loyalty to military duty and the Fatherland, soldiers of the Belarusian army are able to ensure the security of our state and, if necessary, cause irreparable and unacceptable damage to the enemy.
