Mr. Owens noted that border security is an important part of national security. If the services and the US government do not know who is coming into the country, if they do not know what their intent is, then that is a threat. According to him, they are exploiting a vulnerability that’s on the US border right now.

The Chief of the US Border Patrol informed that the number of cases of migrants being detained at the border since the beginning of the 2024 fiscal year, which began in the United States in October 2023, is gradually approaching 1 million. According to him, by the end of 2024, the number of such incidents could exceed 2m. Mr. Owens added that there were 140,000 known got-aways.
